Pop up box card

Today I worked on a pop up box card for the first time ... it was quite FUN! I downloaded the Hearts Aflame SVG kit from SVGCuts. I was purchasing another kit and it was FREE with a purchase value of $9.98 until 4 February 2015 ... check out their site for further info. I really like the kit as it offers 5 different cards which are lovely and can be adapted to other occasions like weddings and birthdays, etc.

Anyway back to my box card: Because I really wanted to try this file today, I used what cardstock I had on hand, I mixed red, pink and purple and used some patterned February/Valentines paper ... next time I'll concentrate on sourcing the prettiest paper and cardstock before cutting.

The card and paper was cut using my Silhouette Cameo, and I used Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive.

Mom's vase and rose

Today I've been experimenting with a file from SVGcuts.com as I really love their designs and work. So please have a look at my first (of many, I'm sure) creation from their Mom's garden gifts kit.

I had some pretty flower design (printed both sides) cardstock and used that for the vase. I mixed plain beige cardstock and a distressed cardstock for the rose petals, the plain cardstock worked well with curling the petals. I used green painters tape for the stem and to attach the leaves.

I'm really happy with my first creation from SVGcuts and look forward to creating lots more.

The Grinch - Christmas 2014

Just before Christmas I created this poster for my son's school as they were performing 'How the Grinch stole Christmas' for the school concert.
I used black poster foam board from Michaels, and cut green and white vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo. The font was from DaFont and the image I traced from Google. It was easy to cut and apply and turned out great!
