Someone loves Easter!

Hello Crafty friends,

Today I was looking through some of my Silhouette files and spotted one that I've been wanting to cut for ages - its the 3D Bunny Purse Box by Lori Whitlock.

I love Easter time and finally decided to create this box today.
Lori Whitlock Bunny Purse (photo from the Silhouette Store)
I chose my pink papers from my stash, this particular one has some glitter and I needed to double cut it (and will probably have to replace my blade! lol). It has only a pattern on one side so I cut out a pink and white striped paper to put inside and use as the bunny head shape on the outside.
I changed the look slightly by making it a shaker box and added sequins to the inside sealed between two clear sheets. This is only my second 'shaker' so I need to look for foam pieces/strips that I can curve with the shape for future projects - this looks a bit 'bitty' from the side.
I added a few smaller bunny heads in different patterns around the box for the photos and will include them in box with a bag of treats.
I had some spare bunny heads so I turned them into a fun banner for the background. I also used a sheer ribbon for the handle which matched the box nicely.

I hope you enjoyed my 3D Bunny Purse Box today - I love it and wish I could make more all night - but family duties call :-)

Happy Crafting!

St Paddy's Day Clover Treat Basket!

Hello Crafty friends,

Today I'm sharing a Clover Treat Basket which is free to download over at Dreaming Tree. Not only is this file free, but if you make this great, easy-peasy file with your cutting machine and upload it to their website, you'll receive a $2.99 Dreaming Tree gift card - how awesome is that!?!
And a BONUS on top of that is, if you like Dreaming Tree's Facebook page and they reach 15000 fans they will be giving away a cutting machine!! Share this with all your crafty friends. (Please read the rules and terms and conditions on their website for this offer!).

This is my final version of the Clover Treat Basket creation:
So I had an idea to include a rainbow that I recently downloaded from Miss Kate Cuttables but I had to change my layout thought after I'd cut it - my printer brought the colours out so vividly but my Silhouette machine didn't like my white cardstock and it didn't cut very nicely.
I used the dark green paper from the Craft Smith paper pad for my base and a nice double sided patterned paper from my never ending stash for the rest of the cutting file.

I've included some additional photos of the treat box showing it from different angles.
I gave the clover leaf on top of the handle a 3d effect and raised it with a foam dot as well as added a smaller patterned clover leaf on top.
I added some gold sequins just to break the plain green of the top clover.
I added a patterned clover to the back of the treat box - please excuse the bad lighting - I told my hubby and son they could have the chocolate as I'd finished taking photos and I realised I'd forgotten the back view so this was a 'quick give that back' moment to take my last photo.

I hope you enjoyed my blog and join in creating a Clover Treat Basket of your own.

Thank you for visiting today!

Winter is back!

Hi crafty friends,

So winter has returned, we were in the minus double celsius figures over the weekend and was sooooooo cold - today we have some beautiful snow and milder temperatures!

I recently posted a birdhouse made from a SVGCuts file and now I'm sharing an additional birdhouse that belongs in the same set ...

I used the same colours as my previous birdhouse - you can check that post out here!

Spring is in the air ...!

Hi crafty friends,

We've had a very mild winter here in Toronto and on some days it actually felt like Spring! (but woke up this morning to snow ...lol).

Today I finished a little birdhouse from SVGCuts from the 'Spring Birdhouses SVG Kit' and love how it turned out. It's super cute!

I popped past Michaels the other day just to browse (ha ha) and bought some Bazzill 12x12 cardstock that was on sale for 29c a sheet and knew I had to use some of it for something Spring or Easter.

The pink flowers and feathered bird paper were already in my cardstock stash and thought they would work well together with the embossed dotty 'sandbox' colour.

I added some green and some glossy sugar dots to finish off the birdhouse. This will look great as a gift with some tissue paper and some candies enclosed.

Thank you for visiting today!

Happy crafting,

Silhouette Challenges - # 34 - Coffee & Hot Chocolate!

Hello my crafty friends,

Welcome to my February (Challenge 34) DT post for Silhouette Challenges.

I've been wanting to decorate my coffee pod holder for ages - I had all of these great quote ideas to fill the blank canvas but while trying to choose the best quote I realised they only included coffee - AND I have a young man in the house that loves his hot chocolate and would probably be upset that I didn't include him in the quote ... oh the small things (choose your battles as they say in the 'parenting handbook' ... lol).

So here's my newly decorated coffee pod holder:
'Everything gets better with coffee & hot chocolate'

I used the following fonts:
SignPainter for Everything, coffee and hot chocolate
American Typewriter for gets better with and &

The vinyl is a shimmering silver that I picked up from a local sign maker and is so nice and thin and easy to cut and weed.

Thank you for visiting today! Enjoy a good cup of coffee or hot chocolate!
Happy Crafting!
