Gift Card Holder - I made it!

Hello friends,

Yesterday I was looking for a gift card holder and couldn't find what I envisioned so I decided to make one for myself. I haven't designed 'properly' for a  L O N G  time as there are so many great designers and files in the design world already that it's easy to just purchase with a click!

I worked out the measurements I needed, bypassed my design program and just created it directly in the Silhouette Studio program.
My gift card holder has the outer cover, middle insert with cut outs and a sleeve to hold it closed. Depending on the paper I will also add a shaped cutout to the sleeve for added decoration - for this paper I didn't think I needed it as it has crazy zig zags :-)

I have a few tweaks to do with the insert cut outs but I'm really happy with the way it turned out and with the paper choice.

Thanks for visiting me!
See you again soon!

Adventure scavenger hunt!

Hi Friends,

My son loves scavenger hunts - any size - any event! Every Summer we usually take advantage of the great weather and I create a hunt starting from the inside to the outside. This year my hands have been full with a cute but demanding puppy and I have not been organized - so yesterday I started with a cool little file from Birds SVGs

The file I used is called the Matchbox cutting file. It is such a great little file, cuts easily and once glued slides nicely into the cover. It can be used for any occasion - I see myself using it again for a treat box for Halloween and in a Christmas Advent display!

I chose my 'Adventure' paper and started writing out some of my clues - crack the code and follow the directions ... :-)
I will have these boxes inside so that my son can find these first and work out the next steps!
Thank you for visiting!
Happy Crafting!

Time for cake!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing a cute tiered cake gift card holder with you - a little while ago this file was a freebie of the week from the Silhouette Store by one of my favourite designers Lori Whitlock.

I was inspired and loved what Kathy from Lori's design team did with the file (so pretty and pink!) and decided to cut mine out.
I chose my pretty flower paper from my stash. The paper was double sided so I used the other side, the darker pink, for the trim and added some pink and white 'pearls'.
This is an example of what it looks like with a gift card attached - you just slide up the first tier of the 'cake' to retrieve the gift card.
Here is a closer view of my pretty paper and the pearls.

Thank you for visiting me today!
See you soon and happy crafting!

Some Summer Fruit!

Hi Friends,

Today I'm sharing a card with you using the files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - I'm not a big card maker so every time I make one it's a challenge for me ... lol ... hopefully practice makes it 'better' for me! :-)

I used these two files from their collection of cutting files
I chose my card base and background colours, added my own caption 'you're berry berry special' and sent if off to print and cut to my Canon and my Silhouette Cameo. (Looking at it now I think I should have a comma between my two 'berry' words!!)
I decided to add some 'shine' to some of the stems and used my dimensional magic from Mod Podge.
I printed a separate basket of Strawberries and used some foam pieces to give it depth.

I hope you enjoyed my project, thank you for visiting today!
Happy Crafting

'Gender reveal' treat boxes! - CT project!

Hello friends,

I'm here to show you some gorgeous 3D Zebra and Zebra print treat boxes. The files are from Studio Ilustrado and can be found here and here.

I chose the Cute Zebra 3D box and the Zebra print digital paper from their website and decided to make a few different coloured Zebras that can be used for any party!

I love purple so I decided to try one of the Zebras as a print and cut file and kept the rest white with different coloured hair/tail.
Once they were all cut out and put together I filled their bellies with popcorn and sprinkled some chocolate covered candy around!
The Zebra comes with lots of little pieces for the stripes and was easy to cut and put together., I even curled some of their hair and tails :-)

I hope you liked my cute 'gender reveal' treat boxes!

Studio Ilustrado is on Facebook and is very active with all their new creations:

Visit Studio Ilustrado online at the Silhouette Store or their own website for more fabulous cutting files, digital paper and print and cut files.

Happy Crafting!

Some crafting goodies!

Hi Friends,

I've been 'missing' from my craft room lately and had a few minutes to get into my space and do a bit of tidying up ... not much got done as I was distracted when I found some stash to admire ;-).

I did find some gift tags and a Father's Day card (now birthday card!) that I'd already completed so I decided to share those with you today!

The gift tags are from Dreaming Tree and are a free file called Blossom Tag:

Aren't they so cool!?

The Fathers Day card from Lori Whitlock (as previously mentioned one of my favourite designers) was also a freebie at the time and is available at the Silhouette Store for $1.25. I'd made it for my hubby for Fathers Day and forgot about it (my son had given him something else) ... but it's his birthday coming up so we will give it to him then :-)

Thank you for visiting today!

See you soon
