Halloween treats!

Hi Friends,

I've been so busy at home and haven't been able to post for a while but I found some time to share a quick 'Halloween treats' post with you today that I made for my son's class!

For the kids treats I used a spider and bat image from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons and a cauldron, and owl from Miss Kate Cuttables. For the teachers treat I used this file from the Silhouette Design Store which is a Lori Whitlock file and the monster title from Miss Kate Cuttables.

I also made some paper clips using jumbo clips in orange and purple and added some dotted ribbon.
I added a Halloween marshmallow chocolate bar into the envelope and sealed it with a print and cut sticker. The sticker paper I used was a very thin one from Staples.
To carry all these treats to school my son will be using his Halloween bag. I used printable transfer paper (for dark material ... seems to works better than the light version!) and used my heat press to adhere it to the bag. The image is from Studio Ilustrado and can be found in their store as well as the Silhouette Design store and is currently on SALE!
Thank you for visiting today.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Thanksgiving in Canada!

Hello Friends,

Canada is celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend and I've been prepping some little treats for my son's class.

Studio Ilustrado had the perfect files for this project. I used the Leaf box with lid and Treat holder leaf files.
These files can also be found in the Silhouette Design Store as well as other gorgeous boxes and treat holders for every occasion designed by Studio Ilustrado.
I chose my papers from my collection and cut and glued the box and filled it with a mix of Lindt chocolate.
After completing the box I cut and folded the treat holders. I love the way my Cameo cuts the small and detailed leaves without any issues. I used double-sided tape and attached a chocolate caramel ball to the base of each holder.
I hope you enjoyed these special treats today. Please visit Studio Ilustrado on their social media links below or in the Silhouette Design store.

Thank you for visiting!
Happy Crafting!

One for the man in your life!

Hello crafty friends,
I'm back to share my latest Hybridchick post - it's a great mini album I made for my husband - originally for Father's Day but ended up giving it to him for his birthday.
I chose the gorgeous manly digital paper from SAS Designs and loved the combination of colours and elements in the kit.

The file is a Lori Whitlock file (yes I use her files a lot - they are very easy to use). The file is called 'Hidden Binding Suitcase Mini Album' and can be found in the Silhouette Design store.
First I chose which patterns I wanted to use and laid them out on screen. I selected the print and cut feature and sent the file to my printer (I use a large format Pixma Canon iP8720).
fter the printing I cut the file out on my Silhouette Cameo machine and then also cut out the rest of the file pieces using plain brown cardstock.
I selected all my printed pattern pieces and attached them to the suitcase base and then glued and assembled the inside pieces.
After the whole suitcase file was assembled I slid in the printed inserts and decorated the handle, the front panel and completed the rest of the suitcase.
I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to give the #1 badge a raised glossy look and added some velcro to close the suitcase flap. I added sparkly white and teal enamel dots to complete the handle.

New school year!

Hi friends,

I recently won (yay!) some cutting files from The Cutting Cafe and got to chose this gorgeous file called - pencil treat cup card. My son started a new school year and we're very excited for this year in Grade 4 and I decided to make this file as a hello card for his teacher.
I did not read the instruction sheet that accompanied the file so once I started cutting the card I realised that I should have increased the size as I originally wanted a standard card size.
But it actually turned out really cute at the smaller size (and I got to save some paperclips to use for another project!). I cut out two small apples from left over scrap cardstock and added them to the card with some foam dots.
The pencil treat cup card also comes with some sentiment sayings, the #2 and pencil scribbles.

I did watch the video that is on The Cutting Cafe website to see how to create the section to get the paperclips or treats in and out the card. This is such a fun idea!

Creative Team - NEW Glam Kit Project!

Dear Crafty Friends,

Today I'm EXCITED to share the latest kit from Studio IlustradoGlam Kit
I was looking forward to use this kit as there are so many beautiful paper patterns and elements to choose from. This kits' theme and variety would be fabulous for any party!

I used the following files from Studio Ilustrado to display the NEW KIT!
I created a quick 'To do list' to keep a record of what had to be done. I love the patterned paper I used on the edge of the list - the flowers are gorgeous and can also be used to make invitations to match the treat bag.
I used one of the label elements and the sparkly gold numbers and made cards for the table which can be left standing on their own or attached to a thin dowel. There are even letters so name cards could also be made.
I loved all the patterned paper so I had to use a combination of the stripes and dots to make the cute birthday cake treat boxes.
There are so many beautiful elements in this kit (60) - I wish I could use them all - the variety of choice is excellent.

Butterflies will fly!

Hello my crafty friends,

Today I'm sharing my latest creative team project for Studio Ilustrado. This file can be found in the Silhouette Design Store or on their website.

Butterflies Card - Studio Ilustrado
I chose my colours and patterned paper and worked on my two cards. I really loved this file as it had so much detail to cut on the butterflies as well as easy to put together.

On the blue card I decided to make the outer butterflies with vellum so you could still see the patterned paper underneath. For the pink card I kept the paper plain with the dots and added some Wink of Stella to give the card a little bit of sparkle, and added some green coloured pearls!

Please visit Studio Ilustrado for more of their great designs which include cut files, digital paper and a few freebies too!

Look for their new designs in the Silhouette Design Store:
