Halloween Card Swap!

Hi Friends,

Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made for a Card Swap group that I joined in Canada. I love working with paper especially creating 3D projects but I'm new to making cards and not very confident when trying to get my ideas down onto paper! So joining this group challenges me to get it done!

This months theme is Halloween so after many different ideas I finally came up with the following card ... last minute changes and add ons ...

Cardstock was from my ever growing stash, the ghost image (Happy Haunting) was from Too Cute by Jessica a freebie from a recent Blog Hop on Craftin Desert Divas and the 'ribbon' text (Halloween Title Set $0.50) was from Miss Kate Cuttables. Both images were printed and I used the Silhouette print and cut feature.

I hope my card swap buddy enjoys this card!
Thank you for visiting!

Halloween with SandyPieCREATIONS @ Scrap Orchard!

Hello friends!

I'm so excited for Halloween - it's such a scary, exciting and fun time for our family! I enjoy seeing all the great costumes when the kids come to our house to Trick or Treat!

There are so many awesome Halloween creations being displayed online on the blogs and Facebook groups I follow - I really love this crafty world :-)!

Today I'm sharing my SandyPieCREATIONS Hybrid Creative Team HALLOWEEN project!

For this project I used the Witch's Hat cutting file from Sandy's store at Scrap Orchard and a Halloween acetate sheet and cardstock I had in my stash and added a tea light in the treat base section to give the hat a GLOW!

The file was easy to cut and put together and is currently on SALE!

Happy Halloween and thanks for visiting!

Kids birthday cards!

Hi everyone,

My son has two birthday parties to attend this weekend and he is super excited about both of them. One party is at an indoor rock-climbing venue and the other is a Minecraft & Nerf gun at home/park party!

I have no idea what to get these boys for their birthdays so I decided on gift cards from my favourite book store - Chapters! - at least they can decide on a good book or something else from the kids section.

Here are the cards I made for them: the 8 year old likes 'My Singing Monsters' so I decided to make a pop-up card. The 9 year old likes Minecraft - I had previously made a Minecraft card for another friends birthday so I just switched out the names and moved the characters around.

The images on both were printed on photo paper and sent through the Silhouette 'print and cut' feature. The base of the pop-up card was used from SVGCuts - Hearts Aflame Box Cards template.

Thanks for reading!

Just because I could - yesterday & today!

Hi everyone,

Lately there have been so many great freebies from fab companies and designers, and great challenges online so I decided to create something using a freebie and then link up to a challenge following their requirements.

I found this great site called colour me...! that suggests a weekly colour combination challenge for colour lovers - so yesterday I sourced my colours and while I was doing that a freebie came through for a gift card holder tag from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. The main design I used was from Big Dreams Designs over at Scrap Orchard. I was on limited time so when my pup fell asleep I quickly whipped up this project:

I matched the colours as best I could to participate in the challenge:

I hope you enjoyed my project and check out these great sites!
Happy Crafting!

BOO to you!

Hi everyone,

I finally finished my BOO sign for Halloween for my front door. I used some Halloween paper I had stashed away for this fun time and got my son to help me choose some ribbon from Michaels craft store.

After cutting the paper I needed to make the letters a bit more sturdier so I raided my pantry and emptied my sons cereal boxes and cut the letters out of these ... first time I've used packaging and my Silhouette machine cut through it quite nicely. I used some free clipart (ghost and the pumpkins) which I printed on matte photo paper and added to the letters - I'm very happy with the results.

We have a glass screen door so the sign will be protected from the outside weather so hopefully it will hold up well when it turns colder outside.

Thank you for visiting me today!
Happy crafting and a early Happy Halloween!

Autumn shaker card!

Hi everyone,

Today I'm sharing my first ever shaker card. I belong to a new group on Facebook called 'Canada Card Swap' and September is the first month to share a card with the theme being Autumn.

I've only done a few cards before so the thought of making a card for another 'crafter' scares me but I watched a few YouTube videos, took the plunge, and decided to make a shaker card!

I used some paper from my stash, a free Autumn hedgehog image from Miss Kate Cuttables (now 50c) - he is so super cute!, acetate, sequins, glue dots, foam adhesive squares and scotch quick dry glue. I designed the card shape and cut out, used print and cut on my Silhouette and Canon printer for 'Hairy' the Hedgehog and used a silhouette file for the envelope design.

When I'm ready to mail to my crafter swap buddy, I'll use the cut out shape to seal the envelope.

During my nerves of sealing the acetate pieces some of my sequins got stuck to the foam squares! - but I don't think it looks too bad.

View of the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking at my card! See you again soon :-)
Happy Crafting!

Summer coming to an end!

Hello friends!

I've been a bit quiet this end ... it's Summer time and so much has been going on! My son is on school break and goes back next week, we went away to visit dazzling NYC, and, on our return we picked up our new puppy ... I've hardly had any time to 'stop and smell the roses'.

I did however squeeze in some time to create this cute monster by SandyPie Creations over at Scrap Orchard.

How cute is this 'little madam'!? I hope you like her. I downloaded the 3d cutting file and decided to make this monster a pretty girl monster by adding a bit of pink.

Thanks for visiting!

I'm itching to get back into my craft room SO look out for me on the 8th for my DT post over at Silhouette Challenges - #29 Anything Goes!

Happy Crafting,

Silhouette Challenges: Ch#28 (Anything Goes)

Welcome everyone!
It's time for our mid posting over at Silhouette Challenges.

This is my first project that I created for the Silhouette Challenges DT team.
I'm very excited to be sharing a 'Back to School' apple that I created for my sons teacher.
The class is always running out of glue sticks so I decided to give them an extra few for their September start.

Silhouette Store Freebie!

Hello everyone!

Recently the Silhouette Store had this lovely flower as a free item of the week so I decided to cut it out and put it together.

I used patterned paper from my stash - one was a pink pattern and the other was mixed. They were so easy to cut and glue together.

Do you need a last minute flower display ... so easy ... they will look so pretty for any table arrangement in any colour.

Thanks for visiting,
Happy Crafting,
*Vicki*
